As with most other UK dive clubs, Saddleworth SAC's main diving season runs from
April until October. During this period there is usually a dive weekend every fortnight.
The club has a monthly weekend to Abersoch, situated on the Llyn Peninsula in North
Wales, where we take out the club boat and dive a range of, mainly scenic, dive sites.
Our other monthly weekend is when we charter, or get places aboard, a commercially
run hardboat. These boats take the members out to some superb dive sites around the
UK coast -
In addition to our fortnightly weekends during the diving season, we usually run a week long 'expedition' to dive some of the more remote areas of the UK. Venues in recent years have included St. Kilda, the Shetlands, Scapa Flow, The Channel Islands and Northern Ireland. These weeks give our members the opportunity to develop their diving skills and experience some of the most exhilarating diving that the UK can offer. Also, the club has offered holidays to the Red Sea. These holidays, mostly liveaboard based, give our members opportunity to dive in the clear, warm waters of the Red Sea which is the closest coral reef to the UK.
