Saddleworth Sub-Aqua Club

The Club

Saddleworth Sub-Aqua Club was formed in 1980, and is based in the Pennine Hills on the east side of Oldham in Lancashire, England. The clubs main catchment area is that of the various villages comprising the Saddleworth area, and parts of east Oldham. However, we do attract members from slightly farther afield - Rochdale, Royton, Shaw, Mossley, Stalybridge and even parts of Manchester! Club membership is therefore open to everyone - young or old, male or female, near or far!

Our members must be able to honestly answer a simple medical self-declaration, and be comfortable in and around water - you do not need to be an Olympic swimmer to enjoy diving! If you feel that you may have a medical condition which may affect your ability to dive, then you may contact our Diving Officer for advice - he may not know the answer right away, but he'll soon get back to you.

We currently have just over 40 members, aged between 14 and 65! We are able to take members from the age of 14, although we may wish to have on-site parental supervision for persons under 16 - again contact our Diving Officer for further advice.
